CHILE: Now Using the New Version of the Nice Classification of Goods and Services

Effective January 1, 2016 The Chilean Institute of Industrial Property (INAPI) began using the 10th edition of the Nice Classification of Goods and Services.  The new version will be applied to all trademark applications.

The main differences between the current and previous version of the classification are the goods and services included.  For example, the 2016 version includes powdered baby milk in Class 5 and Smart watches and protective films for computer screens in Class 9.  Other new products and services have been added, and others deleted.
