Morocco: Certificates Electronically Issued as of May 28, 2018

The Moroccan Trademark Office (OMPIC) has announced that effective May 28, 2018 trademark registration certificates and renewal certificates will be issued electronically in a digital PDF format, stamped by OMPIC. Morocco: Increase in Official Fees Effective October 1, 2017

The Moroccan Office of Industrial and Commercial Property (OMPIC) has announced that effective 1st October 2017, the Official Fees for IP matters (trademarks, patents, designs) in Morocco will be increased.  The increase also applies to examination and the annuity maintenance fees for patents and utility models. Morocco: Official Application Fee Amended as of March 2016

European Patents to be Validated in Morocco

Effective March 1, 2015, European patents may now be validated in Morocco.  This is the first time that a non-European country recognizes the legal validity of a European in its territory.  This move should expand the country’s opportunities to increase foreign investment, while simultaneously strengthening the economics benefits of the Moroccan patent system.
