Bernard Olcott, Inventor and Patent Attorney Thirty-nine years ago pioneered and developed a system (in cooperation with the law firm of Olcott & Blair) which is now a standard in the Patent Intellectual Property Profession for paying foreign patent taxes directly to foreign patent offices. This results in considerable savings over the charges of foreign patent agents. Olcott Patent Annuity Payment System The Olcott Patent Annuity Payment System has constantly been improved since 1969. Since absolute accuracy is necessary for annuity and maintenance fee payments, as another pioneering endeavor, Olcott has developed a proprietary Computer System which uses computers to detect human error in clients database by Safety Net #1 and rare computer errors by Safety Net #2. This was a vast improvement 39 years ago when computers were mainly used as combination automatic typewriters and adding machines to generate databases (garbage in/garbage out).Since the Olcott Annuity Payment System required the ongoing transfer of annuity payment data from the client to Olcott, the client had to (a) manually enter their data upon time consuming forms and (b) had to know 40 to 60 Worldwide Intellectual Property Foreign Laws relating to maintenance and annuity payments. These problems were solved by the Olcott System which relieved the client from the tasks of (a) and (b). As another pioneering endeavor, Olcott has developed Safety Net #3 which uses the Proprietary Olcott Brazil Computer Database System to archive every Brazil Patent Office Official Letter which is published in the Weekly Brazil Gazette (the Brazil Patent and Trademark Office does not mail any letters to either client's Brazilian Patent Agent or to Olcott). The Olcott System detects client's Official Letters which require 30 to 60 day response time to avoid lapsing of their valuable Applications and Patents.
